LOCATION
We’re located on the south side of loch Voil, 5 miles from Balquhidder Village hall along an unpaved forest track.
HOW TO GET HERE
By Car
If you have decided to drive along the 5 mile unpaved forest track, follow your GPS to Balquhidder village hall (second red phone box on your right) and there take a sharp left. Go over the hump backed bridge and take a sharp right off the tarmac and into the South Loch Voil track system. Pass the new-build houses and look out for the first of the eleven white hostel signs. On the track, go through the big gate and close it behind you. Continue for 3 miles.
By Taxi
You can book a taxi from the Balquhidder Road End on the A84 (King’ House Hotel) to the Monachyle Mhor Hotel on the North (opposite) side of the glen. From there it is a short walk down a field and stepping stones or ferry will bring you here. Message us 24 hour in advance if you require a ferry pick-up.

By public transport
There is one direct bus a day from Edinburgh (Citylink) and also several buses from Stirling via Callander that will take you to the Balquhidder Road End on the A84 (/Mhor84 Kingshouse Hotel). From where you can get a taxi to Monachyle Mhor Hotel (see above). No Sunday buses.
By Bicycle/Walk
Loch Voil Hostel is 6 miles away from the National cycle route 7. From Callander, follow the blue signs for Balquhidder. Once you arrive at Mhor 84, turn left to Balquhidder village. Once at Balquhidder village hall (second red phone box on your right), take a sharp left. Go over the hump backed bridge and take a sharp right off the tarmac and into the South Loch Voil track system.

From Killin, follow the blue signs for Balquhidder and turn right to Balquhidder village.
